The Winery

The winery was established in 1987 in a restored vintage red barn. The tasting room and winery are located in an enchanting site among towering pines and vineyards. The sunny days and cool nights at the 2500 foot elevation allow for wines with great acid and depth of flavor.

The Vineyards

The 10-acre vineyard was originally planted by the first generation of Smith’s to own the winery, Dr. Wayne Smith in 1980. The vineyard is organic certified, and contains Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Merlot vines.

The Wines

The wines are all made from estate-grown organic grapes and are estate bottled. Smith Vineyards is known for small-batch wines with wonderfully complex fruit and great structure.

The Winemaker

Gary Smith, with his wife Christina, is the second generation of his family to run the vineyard and winery. They have enlisted the aid of their three sons to assist the family winemaking efforts.
