The Winery

Scott Harvey Wines has Napa as its winery base, but has a tasting room in the historic Gold Rush town of Sutter Creek in Amador County. Located in an older, Victorian style home, the tasting room has a warm and inviting feel. Establishing a second tasting room in Amador County was natural for winemaker Scott Harvey. He is seen as being one of a handful instrumental in the resurrection of the Zinfandel grape in this region of California.

The Vineyards

Many of the grapes used by Scott Harvey Wines are purchased from such old Zinfandel Vineyards as Bowman and DeMille Vineyards of the California Shenandoah Valley. The Barbera wines come from the same region, as do some of the grapes for the Syrah wines.

The Wines

The Scott Harvey line of wines is made from Amador County grapes and includes Zinfandel, Old Vine Zinfandel, Barbera, Syrah and a Rose of Pinot Noir. The winery also produces the Jana label wines made from Napa Valley sourced grapes and two specialty wines; One Last Kiss and InZinerator.

The Winemaker

Although primarily known as a Napa winemaker today, Scott Harvey, is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento, and gained experience in both the Rhineland Pfalz region of Germany, and Amador County. He has worked for such wineries as Montevina, Story, Santino and finally Renwood. His is often thought of as one of the who’s who in Zinfandel winemaking in California. He went from Amador to Napa where today he operates his own winery.
